Immersive Resilience is a collaborative partnership between Southport-based Immersive Interactive, the UK’s leading provider in immersive-based technology, and Tor Alexander Bruce, Founder and Strategic Lead of Research North East who has developed a user-led study in cognitive intervention. The study began as an ‘Effectiveness Trial’, in response to a societal need to explore cognitive therapy design within an alternative to mainstream setting.
The study adopted a solution-focused approach building on engagement since 2001 with young people and adults, developing a hybrid-process which includes: in-depth interviewing, clean language, subjective-reasoning, empowerment coaching, participatory feedback, mapping, timeline and future goal setting. Each participant presented symptoms of ‘struggle’ as part of the inclusion criteria, including: Anxiety; Depression; PTSD; Suicide Ideation; Anger; Anorexia; Childhood Trauma. The research study is now working toward clinical trial whilst implementing a robust ethical, governance and data-management framework.
